About Turning it Down a Notch

This blog helps demonstrate the simple philosophy of moderation. It is easy to become overwhelmed by the stress of work, bills, and clutter. Yet through small actions overtime this stress can be alleviated so that we  can live happier, more fulfilled lives. Voluntary simplicity and minimalism can help our personal lives as well as the world we live in. Turning it Down a Notch shows alternatives to conspicuous consumption and new opportunities for frugality.

About Me

My name is Lydia. I am a 22 year old college grad in Pittsburgh who has a job she loves even though it is minimum wage. I live as frugally as possible and try to find creative ways to make do or do without. I am also an artist who has dabbled in many mediums. I am also very passionate about the environment and try to take the best actions as not to endanger it further. Even though I tend to be a very cluttered person with, leaving piles of clutter in my path in the last year I have greatly downsized what I own and hope to continue this progress. I love coffee, avocados,  sketching little doodles, reading, camping,  and going on walks.
